OZONE UV STERILIZER:
Ozone producing UV lamps emits UV light at both rays 185 nm and 254 nm. When ambient Air is passed over an ultraviolet lamp, UV 185 nm will splits oxygen (O2) molecules . The resulting oxygen atoms (O-), seeking stability, attach to other oxygen molecules (O2), forming ozone (O3). The ozone is injected into the water, or air stream, where it inactivates contaminants by actually rupturing the organisms’ cell wall.
There are 3 main applications of Ozone-UV sterilizer in Water Treatment Industry.

1) Disinfection flowing water by UV 254 nm and Ozone gas.
Our Ozone producing UV lamp generate both 254 nm and 185 nm wavelength. Water flow being sterilized by UV rays 254 nm inside S.S reactor chamber while venturi mixer draw air flow pass thru UV lamp. UV rays 185 nm react with air flow over UV lamp inside quartz sleeve to produce ozone gas and mix with water at outlet pipe.

OZONE EFFECTS ON SPECIFIC BACTERIA, VIRUSES AND MOLDS
Ozone interferes with the metabolism of bacterium-cells, most likely through inhibiting and blocking the operation of the enzymatic control system. A sufficient amount of ozone breaks through the cell membrane, and this leads to the destruction of the bacteria. Viruses are small, independent particles, built of crystals and macromolecules, Unlike bacteria, they multiply only within the host cell. They transform protein of the host cell into proteins of their own. Ozone destroys viruses by diffusing through the protein coat into the nucleic acid core, resulting in damage of the viral RNA. At higher concentrations, ozone destroys the capsid, or exterior protein shell by oxidation so DNA (Deoxyribonucleic acid), or RNA (Ribonucleic Acid) structures of the microorganism are affected. 2) Chlorine/Chloramines Destruction
UV rays effectively eliminate residual chlorine/chloramine remain in water. Increasing recognition of the undesirable, negative effects of conventional dechlorination technologies such as activated carbon filtration and sodium metabisulfite injection.Carbon filter media are excellent breeding grounds for bacteria to proliferate. Chemical added give various undesirable drawbacks . Ozone-UV is an chemical free alternative to the use of chemicals and activated carbon beds, effectively destroy chlorine/chloramine, eliminate complicate chemical handling, bacteria problems, etc.
 
3) TOC Reduction:
UV rays 185nm promotes formation of free radicals, leading to the oxidation of organics into CO2 and H2O and is more powerful than the 254nm used in disinfection applications.
It is really safe and effective alternative for TOC destruction, providing low maintenance costs and utilizing non-toxic UV light with minimal by products.

Although UV 185 nm can destruct TOC but it requires higher energy than germicidal dosage, therefore you have to reduce optimum flow rate by 80%-90% of germicidal flow rate to achieve purpose of destruction of Chlorine/Chloramines/TOC.
